Purpose
Send an email via the local email client, e.g. MS Outlook
Solution
Use the Start command with the "mailto:" protocol.

Example
We launch the local email program using the mailto protocol and pass it the recipient, the subject, and the email body.
Since the subject and email text may contain special characters such as "&", which have a specific meaning in the mailto protocol, we first convert both texts into a format where the special characters are replaced by their hexadecimal values. The easiest way to do this is with the standard JavaScript function "encodeURIComponent", which we call via CallJS.

Set V[mail_to] "mary@company.com,william@company.com"
Set V[mail_cc] "sales@company.com"
Set V[mail_bcc] "archive@company.com"
Set V[mail_subject] "Sales Meeting 2026"
Set V[mail_body] "Our annual sales meeting 2026 will take place in Rome,
                      Italy, Hotel Residenza Piranesi"

// encode the subject and the body, since certain characters
// such as '&' have a special meaning
// we use the standard JavaScript function encodeURIComponent
CallJS mail_subject = encodeURIComponent "&V[mail_subject]"
CallJS mail_body = encodeURIComponent "&V[mail_body]"

start "mailto:&V[mail_to]?cc=&V[mail_cc]&bcc=&V[mail_bcc]
          &subject=&V[mail_subject]&body=&V[mail_body]"
