ANSI vs UTF-8 format: Is it really necessary to store our scripts in UTF-8 format for SAP Unicode systems - since they still appear to work fine in ANSI?
The ANSI version works okay as long as the scripts contain ANSI characters only. Problems start occurring if the script contains any non-ANSI characters, such as the accents found in Spanish, French, German, etc.  In languages with a completely different character set (like Japanese, Hebrew, Chinese, etc) you obviously must use UTF-8 format.
