There are 2 ways to run transactions in the SAP Portal:
- via SAP GUI control within the browser
- via ITS (integrated or standalone version)
With SAP GUI, you can use all GuiXT functions as usual. But a SAP GUI
installation is then needed on each frontend PC.
With the integrated ITS, no GuiXT functionality is possible, since SAP did
not implement the GuiXT interface for this environment. But a standalone ITS
server also exists, and here GuiXT can be used, but a few restrictions apply (please see our documentation for the
details). However, SAP does not intend to support the standalone ITS server in the future.
So for new GuiXT developments for SAP Portal, the SAP GUI control is the best alternative.
