Technical Migration Steps
The migration of the customizing and data structure from SD-CAS to the CRM Add-on in S/4HANA does not require a complete redesign, but targeted adjustments. The following steps have proven successful in practice and form the technical basis for a successful takeover.

1. Preparation
  • Check if the S/4HANA system has the CRM Add-on (CRMS4D) activated
  • Backup of existing SD-CAS objects:
    • Class system (class types, characteristics)
    • Partner roles
    • Status schemas
    • Fact profiles
    • Code groups
  • Export relevant table contents (e.g., TJ30, TCLA, QPCD)

2. Create objects in the target system
  • Create new class type (e.g., Z99 Contacts (CIS mobile))
  • Define partner functions analogously (client, contact person, etc.)
  • Create or adopt status schemas
  • Create or transfer fact profiles and code groups

3. Review & adjust data structure
  • Activate assignment to the new table CRMS4D_ACTV_H
  • Ensure text maintenance in CRMS4D_ACTV_TXT
  • Check classifications (fields, object links)
  • Implement custom fields if necessary via BAdIs or custom extensions

4. Technical validation
  • Use transaction CRMD_ORDER for test processes
  • Check status changes and partner logic
  • Access and validate classifications, texts, and fact profiles
  • Optional: Compare old and new data structure through customer-specific check reports

These steps form the technical foundation for a successful migration and enable later integration with CIS mobile without breaks in data flow or operation.
